Aftercare tips for home hair care.

  • Please consider pre-booking your appointments to ensure preferred appointment day/time

  • Always use stylist recommended products. We cannot guarantee the longevity of color or the integrity of your hair if using products that are not salon quality

  • Refrain from washing your hair for 48 hours after your color appointment

  • Washing with cold water is ideal, as this helps to keep your color from fading. This is especially important for reds and fashion color

  • Use a restorative/repairing treatment once a week between your scheduled appointments

  • Do not use heat above 350 degrees. Make sure to use a heat protectant when using any heat tools

  • Refrain from immersing in swimming pools, hot tubs, or salt water

  • Consider investing in a filtered shower head to prevent mineral buildup

  • Try not to wash your hair but 1-2 times a week. Over-washing can lead to color fading prematurely, and your scalp to over-produce oils

  • Blondes: we recommend using purple shampoo to control warmth (our favorite brands are Pravana and Pulp Riot). However, do not use it every time you wash as this can cause your color to dull or feel dry. We recommend using purple shampoo bi-weekly, lather and let it sit for 2-5 mins to see best results

Washing

  • Brush before washing to prevent matting and tangles. DO NOT use a wet brush, wide-tooth comb, or paddle brush. We recommend using a nylon/boar bristle combo

  • Use stylist recommended products. We cannot guarantee the integrity of your hair if using products that are not salon quality

  • Shampoo gently between rows. You may have to shampoo twice in order properly remove buildup and cleanse the scalp

  • Apply conditioner from the ends and work up. Refrain from getting product too close to the roots to avoid your extensions slipping

  • Use a deep moisturizing mask once a week

Post-Wash

  • Before brushing, apply a leave-in conditioner mid-length to ends

  • BRUSH GENTLY using an extension brush in sections. Hold the bottom of your hair and begin brushing, working your way up. When moving closer to the wefts, hold the top with your finger tips to prevent slipping. Repeat process for each row of extensions

Styling

  • Do not sleep with wet hair. Blow-dry the hair at least 80% to prevent matting/weft swelling

  • Avoid using a round brush or styling brush until the hair is mostly dry

  • Before using any heat tools, use a heat protectant

Every Day Tips

  • Apply a hair oil to your ends every day to keep your extensions hydrated

  • During any physical activity (running, biking, water sports, etc) secure your hair in a braid or low pony with a scrunchie or invisibobble hair tie (avoid using elastic hair ties as they tend to get tangled more easily)

  • Before bed, brush and then secure using the tips above. We highly recommend getting a satin pillowcase to prevent matting and tangles

Sunscreen, Swimming Pools, & Spray Tans

  • Chemical sunscreen, chlorine, spray tans, and makeup WILL discolor your extensions.

  • Chemical sunscreen will turn your extensions orangey or peach. We recommend using a cream, mineral sunscreen (no aerosol) instead.

  • Try not to fully submerge in swimming pools, salt water, or (especially) hot tubs. Have fun and make memories, but be mindful that these elements can cause irreparable damage to your investment. At the end of a beach or pool day, make sure to rinse your hair thoroughly and apply a hydrating mask. Submerging in a hot tub can cause blonde hair to turn green, so make sure to wear a high pony.

  • When tanning or spray tanning, make sure to cover the hair with a towel or hair net to protect from UV rays and tinting
